Study the Dulcimer anywhere in the world through video lessons, or take private lessons in Nashville, TN.
Video Lessons – Here’s how it works: Send me an email with specifics on what you’d like to learn for that lesson. I’ll take what you give me and craft it into a 30 minute lesson, record the video and audio, and email it back to you to watch over and over again. Don’t worry if you aren’t sure exactly what you’d like to learn, as long as you send me enough information about your playing ability, I can recommend tunes and exercises to help you progress. I’ll be available for questions after each lesson through email or phone.
Private Lessons – Contact me to set up weekly lessons here in the Nashville area. We’ll work on learning a range of celtic, classical, traditional, and contemporary tunes; as well as technique, arranging, composition, and anything else you have your heart set on to learn! All levels of playing accepted.
Rates (video and private lessons) – $40 per hour ($20 per half hour).
David is a Master at his Field. An excellent musician that was selected at the young age of 14 as the Best Dulcimer Player in an International Competition. He is an excellent teacher that takes his job to heart and has a very unique performance on the Hammered Dulcimer—my hat is off to David Mahler, musician and teacher!
- Jeanne Fizell – Kansas City
David has proved to be a great teacher. He is very patient, really knows his stuff, and knows how to encourage and inspire his students. Under David’s instruction, Benjamin advanced quickly and we were soon hearing beautiful music filling our home. – Diana Fain, mother of Ben Fain – 2007 Texas State Champion – Fort Worth
